We only work with interpreters who share our goal for delivering an exceptional customer experience and who meet our high standards, including the requirements here.

Healthcare Requirements

Additional items necessary to be a medical interpreter on Jeenie

To qualify as a medical interpreter for Jeenie, linguists must meet additional requirements to protect the quality of healthcare, caregiver liability, patient safety, and privacy.

All general requirements
for interpreting, PLUS:

Core CHI, CHI, NBCMI certification (preferred)

2+ years of professional medical interpreter experience

Valid HIPAA training certificate

HIPAA policy compliance

Knowledge of NCIHC National Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics

Individual Business Associate Agreement compliance

40-120 hours Interpreter Training Program (preferred)

American Sign Language (ASL) specific requirements

NAD, RID, CI/CT, NIC, BEI, VQAS Certification

2+ years of professional interpreter experience

Familiarity with state laws & Americans with Disabilities Act

Valid HIPAA Training Certificate

Knowledge of NAD-RID Code of Professional Conduct
